The occupant
Shauwn D. Rush. Online, and here, esdeeyar, which is those initials said out loud. I have gone by them since I was a kid.
I build software and I take things apart. Those used to be two rooms and now they are one, which is most of what this site is about.
The room is a wooden box in the woods on family land. It has one door, three windows, and one of the windows is an air conditioner. Everything posted here was made in it.
What this is
Builds, teardowns, and an honest account of where every part came from. Bought, salvaged, borrowed, or already on the shelf.
It is not a tutorial site. If something here is useful to you, good, but the reason a thing is written up is that I did it, not that you should.
Everything measured is measured. I do not guess a dimension into a drawing and I do not round a story toward a better ending. When I do not know something yet, the page says so.
The name
Thoreau went to the woods to work with his hands and wrote down what everything cost him. I am in the woods with a laptop and a workbench, doing roughly the same accounting.
The difference is the floor space. His cabin at Walden was ten by fifteen. Mine is seven and a half by fifteen and a half. He had more room.
Elsewhere
This site is mine and it is personal. The client work lives somewhere else, under a company name, written for people who are evaluating whether to hire it.

That is over at OnRush. [pending: confirm this is the right landing page]
